दूर क्यूँ?

I was trying really hard to get down and write a song. I always thought I can never write a song and that means I am not a musician. (I still believe that I can't write a song. :D) After so much of struggle, I thought I must just give a medium to the flow that is going on at present at the back of my mind, not really caring about the meter or rhyme. So friends, I want your take on it. I will not say anything about it as a piece of art is best judged by people who experiences it. This is my first ever attempt to scribble down something serious in Hindi.

तुम दूर, बहोत दूर क्यूँ?

दूरियाँ भी नज़दीक आके पूछने लगी

की परवाह किसके लिए इतनी?

रोज़ रोज़ अपना पहरा लिए शाम निकल आती है,

सूरज ढल जाने पे कहीं मायूस हो जाती है,

अब धुल की छोटी बदली बादल बनके पूछती है;

ये धुंआ, ये पानी, आग पे क्यूँ?

सपनों का इक पूरा मौसम आता जाता है

बीच सड़क पे मई की धुप में आती जाती भीड़

बात मुझसे खफा होकर भी करने लगी, ये कबसे जागी रात,

ऐसेमें फिर तुम चुप, बस चुप-चुप क्यूँ?
